ATAPOLY Management Committee Recommends Promotion of 50 Staff at 210th Meeting
The Management of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAPOLY), Bauchi, has recommended the promotion of fifty staff members following deliberations at its 210th Regular Management Committee Meeting.
The meeting, held on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th February, 2026, was chaired by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Hashim Sabo Bello (1st Sarkin Dinawan Dass). During the session, the committee considered and made recommendations on several key administrative and policy issues.
According to the decisions reached, a total of fifty staff—comprising twenty-seven academic staff and twenty-three non-teaching staff—were recommended for promotion, having met the required criteria in line with the Polytechnic’s conditions of service.
The committee also recommended the lateral conversion of two staff members from the Executive Cadre to the Registrar Cadre, in accordance with existing regulations and institutional needs.
In addition, Management approved a review of the Polytechnic’s medical examination fee, increasing it from One Thousand Naira (₦1,000) to Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000).
The meeting further addressed disciplinary matters, with appropriate actions taken against nine staff members after due consideration of reports presented before the committee.
Also considered was the recommendation for the domestication and adoption of the Federal Polytechnics (Amendment) Act, 2019, for full implementation within the institution.
All recommendations from the meeting are to be forwarded to the Governing Council for final approval and ratification.
In his closing remarks, the Rector commended members of the Management Committee for their dedication, valuable contributions, and commitment to the growth and development of the Polytechnic, as well as for sustaining a conducive working environment.
