The Edusko Summit has highlighted the importance of forward-thinking teaching and learning that extends beyond traditional classroom settings. In a statement, the organization emphasized that education must align with the future of work to prepare the next generation for evolving workforce demands.

The upcoming education summit, titled “ACTIVATED,” will focus on preparing African children for future workforce demands. The event is scheduled to take place from November 1st to 2nd, 2024, in Lagos.

Edusko CEO, Mr. Jide Ayegbusi, stated that this year’s theme, “Beyond Classroom,” reflects their commitment to ushering in a new era of education that empowers future African leaders. The summit will feature discussions led by global speakers and experts, networking opportunities, and showcases of futuristic educational technologies and services.

A special panel session will include top African celebrities and influencers discussing their roles in transforming the education system and preparing children for the future workforce. Additionally, there will be a plenary session for teenagers to share their expectations from the older generation, including parents, schools, and thought leaders.

Formerly known as the Business of Education Summit, ACTIVATED has evolved into a significant gathering for education leaders, school administrators, educators, parents, policymakers, and industry influencers across the continent. Over the past seven years, the summit has indirectly benefited more than 5 million students and hosted over 20,000 attendees. ACTIVATED 2024 aims to attract over 5,000 participants across two days.

The event will include plenary sessions, workshops, exhibitions, musical performances, and engaging activities such as gaming competitions and edutainment. Confirmed speakers include Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, Prof. Abiodun Adebayo; Chairperson of Sanctum Startup College, Prof. Abiola Awosika; Managing Director of CcHUB, Ojoma Ochai; CEO of EDUTAMS, Dr. Ademola Adenubi; Director of Schools at Chrisland Schools, Mrs. Ayoola Akinyeye; and CEO of ShopEx TV, Olajumoke Abiodun.
