Federal Government Enhances School Leadership Trains School Principals and Head Teachers on Effective Management

The Federal Government, through the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), has conducted a workshop aimed at enhancing the skills of school principals, head teachers, and education officers from three geo-political zones in Northern Nigeria.
The workshop, which spanned five days and was held in Mararaba, Nassarawa State, focused on various aspects of school management including stress management, instructional leadership, and school culture. Participants were equipped with adaptive leadership strategies, data-driven decision-making techniques, and technology integration to foster conducive learning environments for academic excellence and inclusivity.

Dr. Adebiyi Shofoyeke, the Acting Director-General of NIEPA, emphasized the importance of the training in exposing participants to 21st-century skills in planning, administration, and school management. The workshop, simultaneously conducted in Kano and Gombe states, aimed to equip education leaders with the necessary skill sets to make their work impactful.
Mrs. Obianuju Anigbogu, the Director of Educational Planning, Research, and Development in the Ministry of Education, highlighted the significance of technology, adaptive leadership, and data-driven decision-making in improving the quality of education in Nigeria.
