Federal University Lokoja Adopts Blended E-Learning Policy to Enhance Academic Excellence

The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has officially adopted a Blended E-Learning policy, aimed at integrating technology into the teaching and learning experience. This move is part of the institution's commitment to academic excellence and digital transformation in higher education.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Olayemi Akinwumi announced the adoption of the policy during a meeting at the E-Learning Centre of the Directorate of E-Learning. He emphasized the importance of embracing digital learning to enhance learning experiences, expand accessibility, improve efficiency, and strengthen technological skills among students and staff.
To support the implementation of the policy, the Directorate of E-Learning organized a training session for university staff on the Learning Management System (LMS). The training, led by the Director of E-Learning, Prof. Musa Adeku Ibrahim, equipped faculty members with essential skills for effective course delivery using digital platforms.
The training covered key areas, including platform navigation, course content upload, student engagement features, and technical support. Participants were encouraged to bring their laptops for hands-on practice, with stable internet access provided to facilitate a smooth learning experience.
The adoption of Blended E-Learning is expected to have significant implications for the university community. It aims to improve teaching and learning experiences, equip students with essential 21st-century skills, and prepare them for a digital future.
With this initiative, Federal University Lokoja joins a growing number of higher education institutions worldwide that are harnessing technology's power to enhance educational outcomes.
