The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) was the venue for a pivotal event in academic research on Saturday, August 31, 2024. The College of Postgraduate Studies at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), in partnership with the Institute of Governance and Development Studies (IGDS) - FUL and NILDS, organized the 2nd Edition of the Workshop on Research Methodology for doctoral students.

The workshop, spearheaded by Dr. Tosin Olagunju, Deputy Director of IGDS, was a significant gathering of esteemed scholars and experts in research methodology. The event aimed to enhance the research skills of doctoral students through comprehensive sessions led by distinguished facilitators. 

Key speakers included Professor Fatai Aremu, Executive Director of Research Enterprise Systems, Abuja; Professor A.S.A. Aruwa, former Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at Nasarawa State University; and Professor I.G. Umaru from Kaduna State University. Drs. Zainab Abdul, Abdul Adamu, and Ahmed A. Ibrahim also contributed their expertise to the workshop.

The workshop covered a broad range of topics essential for effective research, including:

In his opening remarks, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, expressed his gratitude to the Director-General of NILDS and the entire NILDS staff for their support and collaboration in making the event a success.
