Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic has mobilized over 3,000 students for the Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) across various ministries and agencies. Acting Rector, Dr. Nurudeen Mu'azu Maifata, emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum and good character during the students' placements at the SIWES Orientation Ceremony for the 2023/2024 ND 1 students, held today.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Maifata cautioned against acts of indiscipline, urging students to remain productive in their industrial attachments. He also expressed gratitude to Governor Abdullahi Sule, the Polytechnic's Visitor, for his continuous support, noting that such backing has significantly contributed to the institution's current progress.

Engr. Aminu Abdul Hamid, the Polytechnic's SIWES Director, acknowledged the management's steadfast support for the SIWES Directorate. He highlighted the significance of the orientation event in helping students gain practical knowledge related to their studies.

The orientation featured resource persons, including Dr. Dauda Ibrahim, Director of Academic Planning at IMAP Lafia, who presented on "Professional Ethical Code of Conduct for Students During Industrial Attachment." He provided insights into student expectations during their industrial placements and encouraged them to focus on learning the practical applications of their classroom lessons.

Additionally, Solomon Anzene delivered a presentation titled "Effective Log Book Management During Your SIWES Program," where he instructed students on how to meticulously record their experiences throughout the attachment.

The orientation serves as a vital opportunity for students to understand the importance of professionalism and effective documentation during their industrial training.
