NUC Grants Accreditation to 12 Programs at Federal University Birnin Kebbi
The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has announced that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited 12 of its undergraduate programs.
The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has announced that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited 12 of its undergraduate programs. This significant development was confirmed by Jamilu Mohammed Magaji, Head of Information and Public Relations at FUBK, in a statement released to the press.
Magaji stated, "This is to inform the University community and the public that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited 12 undergraduate programs of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK). Out of this number, 11 programs were fully accredited, while one program received interim accreditation."

The accreditation results, which cover programs across the Faculties of Arts, Social and Management Sciences, and the Faculty of Science, were based on an evaluation conducted by the NUC between November and December 2023. The results were signed by the Acting Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary.
The fully accredited programs include Business Administration, History and International Studies, Demography and Social Statistics, Economics, Political Science, and Sociology. In the Faculty of Science, the programs accredited are Applied Geophysics, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics. The program with interim accreditation will be reviewed again in two years, with the aim of achieving full accreditation.
Expressing his satisfaction with the accreditation results, the Vice Chancellor of FUBK, Professor Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, conveyed his optimism that the program currently with interim status will secure full accreditation in the next review cycle.

"We are delighted with these results and grateful to all stakeholders who participated in the accreditation exercise," Professor Umar said. "I extend my thanks to the Management of FUBK, Deans, Directors, Heads of Department, and our students for their support and cooperation, which were crucial to this success."
This accreditation milestone is expected to enhance the reputation of FUBK and reaffirm its commitment to providing quality education and fostering academic excellence.
