UNIABUJA VC Reassures Students and Staff on Academic Calendar

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja,  has reassured students and staff that the current internal miscommunication between Management and a group of academic staff will not affect the academic calendar for the semester.

In a statement, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that classes have commenced on the University campus and academic staff are expected to teach their assigned courses promptly. Students are also expected to attend classes regularly to avoid any disruptions to their academic progress.

The Vice-Chancellor also announced that the University Senate will meet to approve new academic calendars for the next few years, ensuring consistency in the University's academic timetables. This will allow staff to have the entire summer off if desired and provide students with opportunities to make up for failed courses during summer classes.

Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor reported that the University has received several national and international research grants worth millions of naira in recent weeks. The University has also signed partnership agreements with various national and foreign governments, NGOs, and grant organizations, further solidifying its reputation as a leading academic institution.

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged students to take advantage of the various activities and programs available on campus, including sports, socio-cultural activities, fitness center programs, undergraduate research grants, student employment schemes, and internships. He also emphasized the importance of regular attendance in classes, as it will determine students' eligibility to write the end-of-semester exams and graduate with flying colors.

The University of Abuja remains committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all students and staff, and the Vice-Chancellor has urged everyone to work together to maintain the University's growth and development.
