UNIDEL SSANU Chairman Highlights Achievements, Pledges Better Welfare for Members

During a recent media interaction, Comrade Oghenekaro outlined the progress made under his leadership since he assumed office on September 30, 2023. He emphasized his commitment to an open-door policy, where members’ views and concerns are consistently addressed.
Highlighting the union’s achievements over the past year, he said, “We have recorded visible progress, particularly in staff welfare and the acquisition of a union utility vehicle. I am also pleased to announce that the University Management has approved land for our Secretariat, with construction plans already in the pipeline.”
Comrade Oghenekaro expressed satisfaction with the fulfillment of the union’s demands, stating that all requests made within the last year were approved by the appropriate authorities.
Addressing the issue of minimum wage implementation by the Delta State Government, the union leader assured members that discrepancies between salaries of university staff and other workers in the state would soon be resolved.
He urged SSANU members to remain disciplined and dedicated to their duties, noting that the University Management values hard work and frowns upon misconduct.
“We have maintained a strong and cordial relationship with UNIDEL Management, who have always supported our initiatives. To reciprocate this goodwill, we must take our work seriously and remain committed to excellence,” he said.
Comrade Oghenekaro also pledged to continue improving welfare packages for members, reaffirming the union’s dedication to their well-being and professional growth.
