UNILAG and Rutgers University Initiate Talks to Strengthen International Collaboration

In a significant move towards enhancing global academic ties, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) engaged in fruitful discussions with Rutgers University, USA, on Wednesday. The delegation from Rutgers University, led by Chancellor Professor Antonio Tillis, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jimmy Jung, Mrs. Shakirat Bola-Ibraheem, Crystal Sanders, and Dr. Sarafa O. Ibraheem, was warmly received by UNILAG's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, and her team at the 11th Floor Office of the Senate House, Akoka, Lagos.
Professor Tillis explained that their visit aimed to enhance Rutgers University's internationalization efforts and foster global engagement with esteemed institutions. He commended UNILAG's reputation as a top-notch center for learning and research, emphasizing the university's significant contributions locally and internationally, particularly through the Institute of African Diaspora Studies (IADS-UNILAG).
Expressing commitment to promoting academic excellence and cultural understanding, Professor Tillis outlined the importance of collaborative initiatives between the two institutions.
In response, Vice-Chancellor Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola warmly welcomed the Rutgers University team and underscored the significance of internationalization in today's globalized world.
