The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, has officially inaugurated the Beyond Boundaries: Modern Skills for Educators and Learners Training Programme. This initiative, organized by Professors Without Borders (PROWIBO), aims to empower participants with essential skills beyond traditional academic boundaries.

The 5-day training programme, hosted at UNILAG's Distance Learning Institute (DLI), commenced on Monday, July 15, 2024. It is designed to educate and inspire staff and students from various academic disciplines, as recommended by the university's Faculty Deans.

Addressing participants during the launch ceremony, Professor Ogunsola emphasized the program's significance, marking its third iteration since its inception in 2022. She expressed gratitude to PROWIBO for selecting UNILAG and highlighted the transformative impact of the programme on the university community over the past two years.

The training aims to foster a mindset of continuous learning and adaptation to rapid global changes. Professor Ogunsola encouraged participants to embrace lifelong learning, stating, "The world is evolving rapidly, demanding that we evolve from mere learners to proactive problem solvers."

Mr. Titus Ayodele, representing PROWIBO, outlined the curriculum's structure, emphasizing its comprehensive approach across three core courses. These courses are tailored to equip participants with practical skills and empower them to drive positive change within their respective fields and communities.

Scheduled to conclude on Friday, July 19, 2024, the programme will culminate in a closing ceremony where participants will receive certificates of completion, acknowledging their dedication to advancing their professional and academic capabilities.
