UNILAG Welcomes NUC Accreditation Panels for SPESSE Programmes
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) hosted accreditation panels from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on March 14, 2024, to evaluate academic programmes offered by the UNILAG Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Procurement, Environmental, and Social Standards Enhancement (UNILAG-SPESSCE).
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) hosted three panels of accreditors from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on Thursday, March 14, 2024. These panels were tasked with accrediting academic programmes offered by the UNILAG Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Procurement, Environmental, and Social Standards Enhancement (UNILAG-SPESSCE). The programmes under review include Procurement, Environmental Standards, and Social Standards at the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), and Master of Science (M.Sc.) levels.

Welcoming the accreditation teams, the Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, emphasized the significance of these programmes, especially given their global relevance in today's context. She expressed the university's eagerness to engage with accreditors and regulatory bodies, viewing their presence as an opportunity for mutual learning and program enhancement.
The heads of the three accreditation panels also commended UNILAG's commitment to excellence and assured their readiness and dedication to ensuring fairness and quality in the accreditation process.

Present alongside the Vice-Chancellor were Professor Ayodele Atsenuwa, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Development Services, Mrs. Olakunle Makinde, the Acting Registrar, and Professor Olusoji Ilori, the Director of Academic Planning.
The accreditation of these programmes underscores UNILAG's ongoing efforts to maintain high academic standards and provide students with quality education that meets global benchmarks.
