In a ceremony recognising dedication and professionalism, the University of Abuja today celebrated 105 members of staff for outstanding service delivery at the 2025 University Staff Meritorious Service Awards.

During the event, 51 staff members received the Gold Category Award, while 54 others were honoured with the Silver Category Award, reflecting their commitment across faculties, departments, and units.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, described the occasion as a “harvest of talent and professionalism”, commending the SERVICOM Unit for its credible and transparent reward framework.

Speaking on the initiative, Professor Margaret Bahal, Director and Focal Officer of the University’s SERVICOM Unit, highlighted that the introduction of monetary rewards demonstrates the University’s commitment to staff motivation and recognition of merit.

  • “Rewarding Excellence in Service: Celebrating Dedication and Meritocracy in Service Delivery”, delivered by Mr. Oshin Olugbenga, Acting National Coordinator/CEO of SERVICOM, represented by Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa, Head of Operations, SERVICOM Office, Presidency.
  • “Service We Rise: Celebrating UniAbuja Achievers”, presented by Professor Musa Maisamari, member of the University Governing Council.

The awards ceremony underscores the University’s dedication to fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, and recognition within its workforce.
