The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has announced the official introduction of the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) as part of its digital transformation agenda aimed at improving teaching, learning, and academic engagement across faculties.

The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has announced the official introduction of the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) as part of its digital transformation agenda aimed at improving teaching, learning, and academic engagement across faculties.

In a memo signed by the Registrar, Dr. Chinenye Gloria Okeke, and dated October 6, 2025, the University directed all students to immediately enroll in the Student Orientation Course on Blackboard LMS as a prerequisite for accessing their courses, materials, and other online resources.

The Blackboard platform allows students to access lecture notes, submit assignments, take quizzes and tests, communicate with lecturers, and participate in virtual learning activities. To ensure smooth onboarding, UNIZIK has made the Student Orientation Course compulsory for all students.

Students are to log in using their UNIZIK email addresses as usernames and their default password format provided by the institution.

Steps for Self-Enrollment:

  1. Visit https://unizik-blackboard.teras.ng/.
  2. Log in with your UNIZIK email credentials.
  3. Click on the Courses tab on the dashboard.
  4. Select Course Catalog at the top-right corner of the page.
  5. In the search bar, type Student Orientation Course or use the Course ID: StudentOrientation-181.
  6. When the course appears, hover over it and click the arrow beside the name.
  7. Click Enroll, then confirm enrollment.
  8. Access the course under My Courses and proceed to complete the Orientation Quiz/Test.

The University emphasized that completion of this orientation is mandatory, and only students who pass the attached quiz will gain access to other course materials and resources on Blackboard LMS.
