The Prof. Festus Aghagbo Nwako Library at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has taken a proactive step to promote reading and literacy among students in Anambra State. On Monday, the library launched a book reading campaign across two secondary schools, with the goal of fostering a culture of reading and supporting educational growth.

The campaign, which coincided with UNESCO’s annual World Book Day, included book donations to inspire students to engage with literature and improve their reading habits. The 2024 World Book Day theme, 'Read Your Way to Success', emphasized the transformative power of books and the pivotal role they play in personal development and academic achievement.

Dr. Stella Anasi, the University Librarian, led a team to visit John-Angel Secondary School in Umuawulu and Nnamdi Azikiwe University High School in Awka. During these visits, she addressed the students, highlighting the value of reading and the role of libraries in fostering a successful academic journey.
