Federal Government to Conduct Mini-Census on Education Sector to Address Challenges

The Federal Government has announced its intention to conduct a mini-census focusing on the education sector, aimed at addressing various challenges within the system. Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, revealed this during the opening of a two-day capacity-building workshop in Abuja.
The workshop, attended by desk officers from the ministry and its agencies, focused on implementing federal government Presidential priority areas and Ministerial Deliverables for the Education Sector.

The workshop also witnessed the unveiling of working documents by the Federal Ministry of Education and the signing of commitment statements by directors and heads of agencies. Participants were urged to enhance their capacity to effectively track, collate, and report activities within their respective departments and organizations.
The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda for the Education Sector, which outlines specific Ministerial Deliverables and a roadmap for enhancing education in Nigeria.In attendance was the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, who expressed hope that the training would enhance participants' ability to contribute to the sector's development.
