In a commendable effort to address the educational needs of orphans and less privileged children, the Helpers Social Development Foundation (HSDF) has inaugurated the Lugard Citadel Nursery and Primary School in Amagu, AkpugoEze Community, Oji River Local Government Area, Enugu State.

The newly established school aims to provide quality education to vulnerable children in the community, reducing the number of out-of-school children and offering them the opportunity to secure a better future.

During the official inauguration ceremony, Mr. Okeke Chinwendu, the co-founder and chairman of HSDF, expressed his unwavering commitment to ensuring that orphans and less privileged individuals gain access to quality education. He shared that the inspiration for Lugard Citadel Nursery and Primary School arose when a vulnerable child approached him in the community, pleading for assistance with school fees.

Chinwendu emphasized the foundation's dedication to producing students of the highest caliber, capable of competing internationally and contributing to the betterment of society. He acknowledged the financial challenges prevalent in the country but stressed the organization's determination to overcome these obstacles in pursuit of a more educated and peaceful society.

Mrs. Stella Beneath, the proprietor of Lugard Citadel Nursery and Primary School, was sponsored by HSDF due to her passion for educating children. The foundation provided essential resources, including school desks, various school uniforms, notebooks, textbooks, chalks, school bags, and more.

Chinwendu expressed optimism about the school's impact, stating, "We expect to get the best students that will be leaders of this country at the end of their program here." He encouraged a culture of giving back to the community, believing that the students would recognize the importance of helping others upon completing their education.

Community leader Chief Chukwubuike Elendu commended HSDF for bringing a low-cost school to AlpugoEze and pledged maximum support for the school's growth. He appealed to individuals and organizations to contribute classrooms, chairs, textbooks, computers, and other materials to enhance the learning environment.

Another community leader, Chief Sunday, emphasized the significance of education for success and urged the community to rally behind the school. He expressed excitement about the opportunity created for less privileged children, emphasizing the need to join hands to make the school a success.
