The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), on behalf of the Management, Senate and the University Community, wishes to invite all graduands, parents/guardians and the general public to the Investiture of the Chancellor HRH, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Isa Ahmadu, CFR, FFPM, the Emir of Mubi, Adamawa State, and combined 6th, 7th and 8the Convocation Ceremonies of the University scheduled to hold from Sunday, February 4, to Saturday, February, 10, 2024.

The convocation activities are as follows:

Day 1: Sunday, February 4, 2024

Event: Special Prayer

Venue: FULafia Chapel of Light, University Auditorium, Take-Off Site Campus.

Time: 10:00 am.

Day 2: Wednesday, February 7, 2024

i. Event: Press Briefing by the Vice-Chancellor

Venue: New Senate Chamber Time: 10:00 am.

Day 3: Friday, February 9, 2024

i. Event: Juma'at Prayers

Venue: Federal University of Lafia Juma'at Mosque, Permanent Site Campus

Time: 1.15 p.m.

ii. Event: Convocation Lecture to be delivered by Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd), CON, CFR, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)

Venue: Mallam Adamu Adamu Office and Lecture Complex, Permanent Site Campus, Lafia, Nasarawa State

Time: 10:00 am.

Day 4: Saturday, February 10, 2024

i. Event: Investiture of the Chancellor and Convocation Ceremonies

Venue: Federal University of Lafia, Convocation Arena, Permanent Site Campus, Makurdi Road, Lafia

Time: 10:00a.m.

NOTICE TO ALL GRADUANDS

i. Graduands are expected to pay the amount stated below using Remitta

The receipt for payment should be presented at the Academic Office for clearance to collect the Academic Gown.

ii. All graduands are expected to dress in appropriate wears

iii. Nobody, including graduands and their Parent/Guardians, will be admitted into the Convocation venue after 09:00 a.m. and only two (2) relatives will be allowed to enter the Convocation Arena

iv. No student will be allowed to leave the Convocation venue before the end of the ceremony. Students are, therefore, advised to comply with these arrangements

v. Academic gowns should be collected from Faculty Officers after clearance from the Academic Office.

vi. Collection of Convocation materials commences on Monday, February 5, 2024, by 10:00 am. and closes on Friday, February 9, 2024, by 4:00p.m.

vii. All collected academic gowns should be returned by the graduands to their respective collection points from Monday, 12 to Friday 16 February, 2024.

viii. All graduands are to assemble at the Convocation Arena by 08:00 a.m. for the commencement of procession

ix. It is compulsory for all graduands to participate in the procession and to put on the approved Academic regalia

x. All graduands will receive their certificates from Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Academic Office. Evidence of payment for the certificate as well as clearance form for returning the acadernic gown will be required for issuance of certificate.

SECURITY:

i. Parking lots are designed and can only be used on presentation of parking cards.

ii. The personnel of University Security Unit and other agencies will direct vehicles to designated parking lots

iii. Luggage and bags will be subjected to security checks before being allowed into the Convocation Arena.

iv. No form of hawking of any item will be allowed near the Convocation Arena.

v. No entry for vehicles with tinted glasses without permission by security.
