The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) has unveiled its Advanced Professional Diploma Programme in Hospital Administration and Management, marking a significant milestone in healthcare education and management. The inauguration ceremony held in Ikeja was attended by healthcare professionals, administrators, and stakeholders.

Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, the Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, highlighted the programme's importance in addressing the existing gap that limits hospital administrators' career progression beyond Grade Level 14 without a professional diploma. He emphasized LASUTH's commitment to excellence in tertiary health services and its dedication to establishing relevant training institutions.

Mr. Jenrola Olanrewaju, representing the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Lagos State, Prof. Akin Abayomi, and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Lagos State, Dr. Olusegun Ogboye, commended LASUTH's initiative. He stressed the alignment of the programme with Lagos State Government's strategic objectives to build a world-class healthcare system, emphasizing the need for continuous investment in human capital development.

Mrs. Olubunmi Fabamwo, Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, lauded the programme's inauguration as a significant step towards closing the professionalization gap within hospital environments. She highlighted its alignment with the 2016 circular approving the professionalization of the administrative cadre.
