The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, the approval to introduce 13 new undergraduate and postgraduate programs. This significant development was announced by Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, Acting Director of University Relations, in a statement following the receipt of an official letter addressed to Vice-Chancellor Professor Jimoh Shaykh-Luqman.

The letter, signed by NUC's Acting Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar Girei, on behalf of the Acting Executive Secretary of the Commission, confirmed the inclusion of the new programs set to commence in the 2024/2025 academic session.

The newly approved programs include two undergraduate courses: Bachelors in Health Information Management and B.Sc. in Development Studies. The postgraduate offerings are more extensive, featuring:
