Proprietors Recommend Security Checks on Teachers
The NAPPS president stressed the importance of conducting background checks on staff to verify their suitability for working with children and ensure the safety of students.
The National President of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Mr. Yomi Otubela, has urged the federal and state governments to conduct regular security checks on teachers and enhance security measures in learning environments.
Speaking in Osogbo during an event marking the United Nations International Day of Education, Otubela emphasized the need for heightened security measures following attacks on schools in some parts of the country.

Otubela highlighted the importance of periodic security checks on teachers and other school staff to ensure the safety of students. He recommended measures such as erecting perimeter fences, installing CCTV cameras, and recruiting well-trained security personnel.

He also called for the Quality Assurance Department in the Ministry of Education to be equipped with necessary resources to monitor schools regularly and ensure compliance with safety measures.
Otubela emphasized that similar security measures should be implemented in public schools, and he called on the government to provide adequate funding to support these initiatives.
