SACOETEC (Formerly TASCE) Revamps and Expands Educational Offerings, Embracing Science, Technology, and Teacher Education

In a spectacular turnaround, the Sikiru Adetona College of Education Science and Technology (SACOETEC), formerly known as Tai Solarin College of Education Omu-Ijebu (TASCE), has risen from the brink of obscurity to emerge as a thriving and highly competitive educational institution. This remarkable transformation owes much to the unwavering commitment of Governor Dapo Abiodun, who has dedicated himself to restoring the college to its former glory, preventing it from becoming a mere footnote in history.
Under the steadfast leadership of the Provost, Dr. Adeola Kiadese Lukman, and the visionary Chairman of the Governing Council, Prince Adéyemí Adefulu, in collaboration with a dedicated and resilient staff, SACOETEC has not only survived but thrived. The institution now stands ready to face new challenges as a hybrid establishment that seamlessly combines teacher education with science and technology.
SACOETEC is embarking on a new chapter, welcoming students into various programs to enhance its educational offerings. The institution continues to uphold its core mandate by admitting students for the Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) programs, which remain a cornerstone of its academic portfolio. Prospective students can opt for full-time courses in Omu-Ajose or part-time courses offered at centers across Ogun and Lagos.
In a nod to inclusivity, SACOETEC is also introducing Pre-NCE programs to accommodate candidates who may not have taken the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or those with lower UTME scores. Additionally, students with deficiencies in their O'Level results can seize the opportunity to uplift themselves and work towards a successful academic journey.
Furthermore, SACOETEC is expanding its horizons by offering B.Sc (Ed) and B.Ed programs in affiliation with Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye. These degree programs, with a focus on education, encompass 15 different courses.
The institution is also offering the Professional Diploma in Education (PDE), an equivalent of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) fully recognized and approved by the Ogun State Government. Moreover, SACOETEC provides candidates with the opportunity to write the Professional Qualifying Examination administered by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), which leads to certification as professional and inducted teachers.
