Akawe Torkula Polytechnic Set to Launch Short-Term Certificate Courses to Enhance Skills Development
The polytechnic plans to establish a Consultancy Unit to offer short-term certificate courses in specialized areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Coding, Cybersecurity, Project Management, and Digital Marketing, among others.
In a move aimed at enhancing its status as a premier institution, Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi, will introduce short-term certificate courses. Approved by the institution's Academic Board, these courses are designed to equip students with technical and vocational skills aligned with current industry demands.
Presiding over the inaugural Academic Board Meeting since the polytechnic's upgrade in June 2020, the newly appointed Rector, Dr. Martins Moses Agena, emphasized the importance of practical education in laying a foundation for tangible improvements.
Dr. Agena outlined the institution's commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and collaboration, aiming to make students more marketable by providing them with skills and guidance for international certification in relevant courses.
