NELFUND and NANS National Executives Visit MOUAU

On September 6, Chinedu Nwosu, Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State, hosted the NELFUND team, led by Mr. Sawyer Akintunde, and NANS executives, including National President Comrade Lucky Emonefe, at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. The visit focused on promoting the 0% interest loan scheme for students. Nwosu urged Abia State educational institutions to digitize their student databases and align with JAMB to benefit from the loan program.

On Friday, September 6, Chinedu Nwosu, Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Student Affairs, hosted a delegation from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.

The NELFUND team, led by Mr. Sawyer Akintunde, MD/CEO, and the NANS delegation, headed by National President Comrade Lucky Emonefe and the NANS Senate President, were received by the SUG Acting President and the Dean of Student Affairs.

During the visit, Mr. Akintunde provided details on the 0% interest loan initiative aimed at supporting students. He emphasized the importance of student participation in the scheme. Comrade Lucky Emonefe expressed gratitude to Governor Dr. Alex Otti for including Abia State students in the program, highlighting the administration's commitment to student welfare.

Nwosu commended the swift action of the SSA and the delegation for bringing the program to the South East, which he believes will alleviate financial burdens for parents. He also praised Michael Okpara University of Agriculture for successfully registering over 574 students and securing ₦71 million in funding from NELFUND.

In light of the visit, Nwosu urged all Abia State educational institutions, including polytechnics, nursing, and midwifery schools, to digitize their student databases and regularize student records with JAMB to fully integrate into the NELFUND scheme.
