The University of Lagos Women Society School (ULWS), a private nursery and primary institution established in 1967 within the University of Lagos, Akoka Campus, Lagos State, has officially invited applications for vacant teaching and non-teaching positions.

The call is open to suitably qualified candidates with the requisite credentials to contribute to the academic and administrative operations of the school.

Teaching Staff Vacancies

The school is seeking to fill the following teaching positions:

  1. Class Teacher III (English)
  2. Class Teacher III (Mathematics)
  3. Class Teacher III (Creative Art)
  4. Class Teacher III (Physical Education)
  5. Class Teacher III (Phonics)
  6. Class Teacher II (Phonics)
  7. Class Teacher II (Mathematics)

Requirements for Teaching Positions:

  • Class Teacher III (English) – ULWSSS 6: Candidates must possess NCE in English from a recognized institution with SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics. No prior experience is required but will be an advantage.

  • Class Teacher III (Mathematics) – ULWSSS 6: Candidates must possess NCE in Mathematics with SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics. Prior teaching experience is not mandatory but will be advantageous.

  • Class Teacher III (Creative Art) – ULWSSS 6: Candidates must hold NCE in Creative Art with SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics. Prior experience is desirable.

  • Class Teacher III (Physical Education) – ULWSSS 6: Candidates must possess NCE in Physical Education with SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics. Experience is advantageous but not compulsory.

  • Class Teacher III (Phonics) – ULWSSS 6: Candidates must hold NCE in Phonics with SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics. Experience is an added advantage.

  • Class Teacher II (Mathematics) – ULWSSS 7: Candidates must hold NCE in Mathematics with SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics and minimum of 4 years teaching experience. Alternatively, candidates with B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed.), or B.A. (Ed.) in Mathematics, minimum 2nd Class Lower Division, and NYSC Discharge Certificate or SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics with at least 1 year teaching experience are eligible. Another alternative is B.A./B.Sc. plus PGDE with minimum 2nd Class Lower Division, NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption, SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics, and minimum 1 year teaching experience.

  • Class Teacher II (Phonics) – ULWSSS 7: Candidates must hold NCE in Phonics with SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics with a minimum of 4 years teaching experience. Alternatively, B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed.), or B.A. (Ed.) in Phonics with minimum 2nd Class Lower Division, NYSC Discharge Certificate or SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics with 1 year teaching experience, or B.A./B.Sc. plus PGDE with minimum 2nd Class Lower Division, NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption, SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics with at least 1 year teaching experience.

Additional Requirements for Teaching Candidates:

  • Possession of a valid Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Certificate/License
  • Computer literacy
  • Maximum age of 40 years

Non-Teaching Staff Vacancies

Requirements for Non-Teaching Positions:

  • Personal Assistant II – ULWSSS 7: Candidates must possess OND in Secretarial Studies, Administration/Office Technology and Management, or relevant disciplines with minimum Lower Credit plus SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics, with at least 4 years experience. Alternatively, B.A./B.Tech/B.Sc./HND in relevant disciplines with minimum 2nd Class Lower Division/Lower Credit, SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics, NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption, and minimum 1 year experience are acceptable.

  • Executive Officer (Account) – ULWSSS 6: Candidates must hold OND from a recognized institution with minimum Lower Credit plus SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics, with minimum 1 year experience.

  • Cleaner – ULWSSS 2: Candidates must possess SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L Certificate with at least PASS in any three subjects.

  • Driver – ULWSSS 3: Candidates must possess SSCE/NECO/WASCE O/L Certificate with three passes, Class ‘E’ Driving License, and Trade Test II (Driver/Motor Vehicle Mechanic’s Work) with minimum 3 years experience.

Age Requirement: Candidates for Personal Assistant II, Executive Officer (Account), Cleaner, and Driver must not exceed 45 years of age.
