Making the decision of the University known during a courtesy visit to the agency, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Federal University of Lafia, Professor Sama’ila Usman Dakyes, said that FULafia was particularly interested in collaborating with the NIGCOMSAT to boost its ongoing e-learning programme.
E-learning, often referred to as virtual learning or electronic learning, is the process of learning through digital media and technologies.
Online courses such as those offered by FULafia and other forms of online learning are the most common ways that e-learning takes place.
Dakyes cited the cost of e-learning as one of its main advantages, saying that the programme, in the long run, decreases the cost educational institutions used to incur.
He said that e-learning satisfies students’ needs by enabling them to study from any location and at any time.
According to Dakyes, his visit to the agency was sequel to a recent call made by the NIGCOMSAT on universities to adopt e-learning through the utilisation of the agency’s platform.
