FULafia Introduces E-Voting System for Students' Elections

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has taken a significant step towards enhancing democratic development and creativity with the introduction of an e-voting system for students' elections.

 

According to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, the new voting system will eliminate issues of rigging and over-voting, ensuring free, fair, credible, and transparent elections. The system is designed to counter all forms of voting fraud, advising students to study guidelines governing the conduct of the system.

The e-voting portal was presented during a demonstration event at the Social Sciences Hall, Malam Adamu Adamu Complex, attended by key university officials, including the Registrar, Chairman, Committee of Provosts, Deans and Directors, and the Dean of Student Affairs.

Prof. Abdul Rahman emphasized the importance of cooperation between the management and students to achieve a successful and transparent electoral process. He noted that FULafia must not be left behind in this era of technology, urging students to take advantage of the new system to participate in the democratic process.

 

The introduction of the e-voting system is a significant milestone for FULafia, demonstrating the university's commitment to innovation, transparency, and democratic development.
