FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor Urges Non-Teaching Staff to Prepare for Leadership Roles

In a recent development at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has emphasized the importance of readiness among Non-Teaching Staff to assume leadership responsibilities. This call came during a one-day Leadership and Managerial Training organized for Non-Teaching Staff on the CONTISS 13 and above salary structure. The event aimed to enhance their skills and efficiency, crucial for fostering productivity across the institution.
Prof. Kehinde underscored the significance of such training sessions as vital preparations for potential leadership roles within the university. He highlighted the critical role of Non-Teaching Staff as custodians and interpreters of University Rules and Regulations, emphasizing the potential consequences of misinterpretations on management decisions.
During the training, esteemed speakers, including former University of Ibadan Registrar, Mrs. Omotayo Ikotun, and Lead Consultant of Purple Plethora Concepts Limited, Mr. Kuro Ngoboh, shared insights on leadership, management, and competitiveness. Mrs. Ikotun emphasized the essence of leadership beyond titles, focusing on inspiring collective action and effective management of talents towards common goals.
