On Friday, 21st June, the Institute for Gender Studies at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) presented a comprehensive report to the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha, fnipr, detailing their recent participation in the UN-ECOSOC & NGO Training for Drafting of Gender and Sexual Harassment Policy Frameworks in Abuja.

The COOU delegation, led by the Institute for Gender Studies, highlighted their findings and recommendations from the training, underscoring the urgent need for a strategic plan and robust sexual harassment policy framework within the university. Key among their observations was the revelation that many members of the university community remain unaware that indecent dressing can be construed as sexual harassment, potentially leading to provocative situations.
