The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade Ogunsola, has announced that the Distance Learning Institute (DLI) will introduce four new programmes in the upcoming academic session.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, has announced plans for the Distance Learning Institute (DLI) to initiate four new programmes in the forthcoming academic session.

Professor Ogunsola made this revelation while addressing newly admitted students during the 2023/2024 Blended Matriculation Ceremony held at the Nurudeen Alao Auditorium, DLI, UNILAG on Friday, April 5, 2024.

She revealed that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for UNILAG to introduce the following four programmes at the Distance Learning Institute: Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Bachelor of Science in Finance, Bachelor of Education in Guidance and Counselling, and Bachelor of Educational Administration.

In her welcoming remarks to the matriculating students, Professor Ogunsola congratulated them for choosing open distance learning as an avenue for education, emphasizing its significance as the way forward. She urged them to uphold good character both in action and in truth.

The newly admitted students were formally presented to the Vice-Chancellor by the Director of the Institute, Professor Risikat Dauda, and subsequently administered the matriculation oath by the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Olakunle Makinde.

This initiative underscores UNILAG's commitment to expanding educational opportunities through flexible learning platforms and catering to the diverse academic needs of its students. With the introduction of these new programmes, the DLI aims to further enrich its academic offerings and empower students to excel in their chosen fields.
