Qualifications and Requirements

Registry

  • Assistant Registrar (CONTISS 9): First degree (minimum Second Class Lower), NYSC certificate, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, proficiency in ICT and digital skills, experience in administrative areas such as grant management, HR, procurement, PR, project management, research administration, patents and innovation, hub management, or counselling. Relevant professional certifications are an advantage. Minimum of six years cognate experience required.
  • Administrative Officer I (CONTISS 8): First degree (minimum Second Class Lower), NYSC certificate, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, relevant administrative skills as listed above, and three years’ relevant experience. Professional certifications are an advantage.
  • Administrative Officer II (CONTISS 7): First degree (minimum Second Class Lower), NYSC certificate, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics. Relevant administrative skills are required.

Bursary

  • Accountant I (CONTISS 8): First degree in Accounting (minimum Second Class Lower) plus three years’ experience, or degree in any discipline with a professional certification (ICAN, ANAN, ACCA). NYSC certificate and SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics required.
  • Accountant II (CONTISS 7): First degree in Accounting (minimum Second Class Lower), or first degree in any discipline plus two years’ accounting experience. NYSC certificate and SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics required.

Works and Physical Planning

  • Engineer I (CONTISS 8): B.Sc. in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering (minimum Second Class Lower), NYSC certificate, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics. Applicant must be ICT proficient, skilled in communication and project management, and registrable with COREN.
  • Agriculture Officer I (CONTISS 8): B.Sc./B.Agri/B.Eng in Agriculture/Forestry (minimum Second Class Lower), NYSC certificate, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, and minimum of three years’ experience in agriculture, forestry, or related fields.
  • Agriculture Officer II (CONTISS 7): Same as above without the three years’ experience requirement.
  • Technologist II (CONTISS 7): HND/B.Tech/B.Sc. in Science, Engineering, or Technology (minimum Lower Credit/Second Class Lower), NYSC certificate, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, and registration with a relevant professional institute.
  • Technical Assistant III (CONTISS 4): SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, plus Trade Test II or NABTEB Certificate in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, refrigeration and air-conditioning, bricklaying, or related fields.
  • Motor Driver/Mechanic (CONTISS 3): SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, Class E Driving License, Trade Test II in driving/mechanics, and minimum of two years’ driving experience with knowledge of Lagos routes.

Centre for Information Technology and Systems (CITS)

  • System Analyst II (CONTISS 7): B.Sc. in Computer Science/Computer Engineering (minimum Second Class Lower), NYSC certificate, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, or equivalent professional qualification.

Medical Centre

  • Medical Officer (CONMESS 2): M.B.B.S. or equivalent, NYSC certificate, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, and registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
  • Nursing Officer II (CONHESS 7): NRN and NRM Certificates, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, and minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Pharmacist I (CONHESS 8): B.Sc. or B.Pharm (minimum Second Class Lower), NYSC certificate, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, and registration with the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria.
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (CONHESS 7): B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Science, NYSC certificate, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, and registration with MLSCN.
  • Radiographer (CONHESS 7): B.Rad, DCR, or DIR (minimum Second Class Lower), NYSC certificate, SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, and registration with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria.

University of Lagos Staff School

  • Master II (CONTISS 7): NCE with Merit, or B.Ed./B.Sc.(Ed.)/B.A.(Ed.) (minimum Second Class Lower) plus NYSC certificate, or B.A./B.Sc. with PGDE. SSCE with five credits including English and Mathematics, and minimum of two years teaching experience in English, Mathematics, Science, Computer, Phonics, French, or Home Economics required.

Salaries

  • CONTISS 9, 8, 7, 4, 3; CONHESS 8, 7; and CONMESS 2: Salaries will be in line with the current national minimum wage structure.

Condition of Service

As contained in the approved Regulations Governing the Conditions of Service of Senior/Junior Staff of the University of Lagos.

General Requirements

All applicants must have SSCE/NECO/WASSCE/GCE O’Level credits in five subjects, including English and Mathematics. ICT compliance is mandatory. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) before the interview.
