Under this comprehensive program, students received specialized training in a variety of critical domains, including web design, 3D animation, graphic design, full stack development, network security, and advanced data analysis. Professor Mobolanle Sotunsa, Director of the Centre for Open Distance and e-Learning, revealed that the initiative received a generous training grant from the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) last year. This funding enabled the center to execute the training program effectively.

Despite its relatively short duration, the program has already made a significant impact. Over 100 learners have successfully completed the training, demonstrating their commitment to acquiring cutting-edge skills. Notably, this achievement occurred within three years of the center’s approval by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to offer MBA and B.Sc programs.

The learners, currently pursuing B.Sc programs in fields such as Accounting, Computer Science, and Masters of Business Administration (MBA), attest to the program’s effectiveness. Additionally, the center is laying the groundwork for course materials and resources in ten new undergraduate courses, including Nursing (Direct Entry for licensed Nurses). This forward-looking approach reflects Babcock University’s commitment to educational expansion and its noteworthy contribution to the online and distance education (ODel) landscape in Nigeria.

As Babcock University continues its journey from 2021 to the present, it remains dedicated to fostering excellence in digital education and empowering the next generation of skilled professionals.
