Rayhaan University Set to Commence Academic Activities in January 2024

Rayhaan University, the first private university in Kebbi state, is set to commence academic activities in January 2024 with 15 courses approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC), according to the Vice Chancellor, Prof Mohammed Ahmadu.

The announcement was made during a meeting with a delegation from the NUC, led by the Acting Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar Muhammed-Altine. The visit was part of the NUC’s resource verification process, a critical step before the university can begin operations.

Prof Ahmadu emphasized that Rayhaan University is an ICT-driven academic institution committed to nurturing students into well-rounded individuals with sound academic, practical, and moral qualities. He also stated that the university had been granted a license by the NUC for 15 courses, with plans for continuous expansion of the curriculum.

Muhammed-Altine, while addressing the university staff, explained that the purpose of the visit was to review the proposed courses before the university’s take-off. He expressed satisfaction with the preparations, stating, “It’s to ensure quality education in the university and we are happy with what we saw.”
